Check out Steve's Adult Swim Lessons and Parent/Child Classes HERE.

Steve is a former high school swim coach (Garfield High School, Seattle, Washington). As an athlete, he is a former high school All-American at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School; and was also a letter winning swimmer at Central Michigan University. Coursework there included Coaching Swimming, and Teaching of Aquatics/Water Safety Instructor (WSI).

He continues to compete at the highest levels, including the Masters World Championship held at Budapest, Hungary, and the Canadian Masters Championships. He is irrationally proud of scoring in the top 10 at the 2025 US Masters Nationals in the 200-yard butterfly.  He also has experience in open water swimming, including the 2021 US masters sprint distance (1 mile) national championship.

Steve believes that swimming is a lifetime sport, and people of every age should feel comfortable in the water both for safety, as well as just to have fun enjoying our Michigan Water Wonderland. He believes in reinforcing what you do well, as well as giving gentle tips for swimming more efficiently.

He is retired from running his swimming pool equipment repair company and now spends his free time babysitting his grandson Teddy, and dabbling in gardening and exploring his theatrical hobby.
